Spike Lee Collection: Original 1990s press kits for Mo' Better Blues, Jungle Fever, and Girl 6
I genuinely feel like I hit the jackpot. One day, I was browsing eBay, and I didn’t know what I was looking for; I never do. That’s what makes collecting so fun. Usually, when I’m searching, I’m pretty vague and type in keywords. This time, I typed in Spike Lee. I scrolled and scrolled, and there it was: Original 1990s press kits for Mo’ Better Blues, Jungle Fever, and Girl 6, at a price I couldn’t believe.
In 2026, physical press kits have disappeared from the film industry, replaced by digital files, cloud folders, and emailed PDFs. You are lucky if you can even find a movie poster these days. But in the 1990s, press kits were tangible objects, assembled packages that told the story of a film before audiences ever saw it. They typically included production notes, cast and crew biographies, and those iconic 8x10 glossy photos that feel like artifacts from another era. Studios distributed them to television stations, journalists, or radio shows for promotion.
So when I came across this Spike Lee memorabilia, I couldn’t pass it up!
I had to share a sneak peek of them with you. Enjoy!
