Mo’ Better Blues & School Daze Original Movie Posters
Two new additions to my collection that feel especially meaningful.
I recently acquired rare original movie posters for Mo’ Better Blues and School Daze, both directed by Spike Lee, films that sit at the intersection of Black art, culture, and identity.
These posters aren’t just promotional artifacts; they’re time capsules. They represent an era when Black filmmakers were unapologetically telling layered, challenging stories and demanding space in mainstream cinema to do it.
Mo’ Better Blues captures the beauty and tension of Black artistry, ambition, and love through jazz and intimacy. School Daze confronts internalized divisions, colorism, and class questions that still echo today. Owning these pieces feels less like possession and more like preservation.
This is why I collect: to honor the work, to protect the history, and to keep these stories visible.
